Dispel Test Procedure (DTP)

This procedure is used during the Casting Test Procedure (CTP) to attempt to nullify an enemy spell.

1

Step DTP.10 → Declare Dispel:

The player whose unit has the Trait triggering this procedure may declare an attempt to dispel an enemy 🌀Spell.

2

Step DTP.20 → Allocate ⚜️Command Seals:

The Defending Player may spend any number of ⚜️Command Seals. For each ⚜️Command Seal spent, add one 🟩Dispel Die to their roll.

3

Step DTP.30 → Roll Dice:

The Defender rolls all of their assigned 🟩Dispel Dice.

4

Step DTP.40 → Reroll (Dispel):

Resolve the Reroll Dice Procedure (RDP) for the dispel dice roll.

Designer's Note: Remember, ⏩Momentum re-rolls may only be used on Attack Tests, not Dispel Test Procedure (DTP).

5

Step DTP.50 → Criticals (Dispel):

Resolve the Critical Effects Procedure (CEP) for the dispel dice roll.

6

Step DTP.60 → Tally Results:

Sum the total number of 🧿Dispel results rolled and add any 🧿Auto-Successes. This is the final result for the dispel attempt.

7

Step DTP.70 → Nullify Mana:

The Defender's 🧿Dispel result is compared to the Caster's total ✨Mana result. For each 🧿Dispel success, reduce the Caster's ✨Mana success total by one.

8

Step DTP.80 → Final Check:

Check if the remaining ✨Mana result is equal to or greater than the spell's Target Number (TN).

  • If yes (Result ≥ TN), the 🌀Spell is successfully cast and its effects are resolved.

  • If no (Result < TN), the 🌀Spell is dispelled, and its effects are immediately canceled.
