book-open§0.1.The World of GODSGLOOM

"You are not a general. You are a god. Your victories are not scribed in mortal annals-they are etched into the fabric of existence itself."

◆You Are a God Without a Universe

You were born from the end of everything.

When the old reality shattered, most things simply ceased to exist. But not you. You emerged from the chaos - a new consciousness, a Will without form, a god without a throne. You are one of the Ascending Gods: minds forged in the collapse, hungry to shape new reality.

You are not alone. Countless others emerged alongside you, each with their own vision for the future. And there is only one path to supremacy: gather enough Soulshards — the raw material of creation — and you will shape the next universe in your image. You will become what the old Great Gods once were. You will rule what comes next.

But a thousand other Ascending Gods are ready to claim it first!

The Godsgloom is the clash for the power to build a new universe.

◆ The Fracture - What Came Before

Once, there was an age called The Bloom - a time when reality followed rules. Time moved forward. Cause led to effect. The Great Gods maintained this order across countless worlds.

But nothing lasts forever. Reality stretched too far, cracked, and finally shattered. Stars vanished. Worlds folded into themselves. The framework of existence collapsed. The Great Gods dissolved into the fabric of what remained.

What remains is The Gloom - a drifting sea of broken reality where direction has no meaning and time moves in fractured pulses.

Only fragments survive: World-Shards - broken pieces of lost worlds slowly dissolving into nothing. A crystal kingdom from a mythic age. A silent city from a future that never arrived. A forest frozen in its last moment.

This is the battleground where you will claim your throne.

◆ Soulshards - The Price of Godhood

When World-Shards drift close to each other, the pressure between colliding realities creates something precious: Soulshards.

Soulshards are solidified fragments of reality - pieces of existence compressed into physical form. Each holds something that once made a world function. Gather enough, and you have the raw material for a new Bloom.

This is why you fight. Not for territory - territory no longer exists. Not for wealth - value has lost all meaning. You fight because whoever controls the Soulshards controls the future.

Gather enough, and you ascend. Fail, and you fade into the Gloom like everything else.

The Gloom is not a wasteland. It is an arena. And the prize is godhood itself.

◆ The Remnants - Your Warriors from Lost Worlds

An Ascending God cannot touch the physical world directly. Your Will is too vast, too abstract to grasp a Soulshard. To claim what you need, you require warriors.

The Gloom erases slowly and unevenly. Some traces cling longer than others. Across the dissolving World-Shards, figures remain - entities whose final moments burned so intensely that they left permanent marks on reality. A knight whose kingdom fell around her. A soldier from a war that never ended. A beast born from collective fear in a world now erased. These are Remnants: the last surviving imprints of realities that no longer exist.

Without purpose, they fade. But you can preserve them. By extending your Will, you anchor their existence. The bargain is simple:

"Fight for me, and you will exist again in the next universe."

This is why they follow. Not for glory - glory vanished with the worlds. They fight for existence itself. Every unit on your battlefield is a memory you have chosen to save from oblivion.

◆ The Avatar - Your Presence in the World

To command your Remnants, you must pour part of your Will into a physical vessel - your Avatar. Your Will cannot hold shape in matter without a vessel; split it too thin, and you lose command coherence.

Your Avatar is not a servant. It is you - your Will given form, your voice made audible, your intent made visible. Through your Avatar, you issue commands. Through your Avatar, you claim Soulshards. Through your Avatar, your Remnants know what you want.

If your Avatar falls, your connection to the physical world fractures. Your Remnants may falter. Your strategies may unravel. And finding a new vessel capable of holding your Will is neither quick nor certain - not every form can contain a god's intent without breaking.

Protect what carries your Will.

◆ The Conflux - Where Realities Collide

The battlefield is never a stable ground.

When World-Shards drift close enough to touch, the collision creates a temporary space called a Conflux. In a Conflux, reality stutters - on the unstable boundary where different realities press against each other. A ruined castle wall merging with a lava field. A frozen plain touching scorched earth.

The Conflux is already breaking even as the battle begins. Reality cannot sustain such contradictions for long. This is why every game is fast: you fight on dying ground. If you do not claim the Soulshards now, the Conflux will collapse and take them with it.

Speed is not a choice. It is survival.

◆ The Pulse - Seasons of Clashes

The Gloom breathes. It contracts and expands in fractured rhythms - echoes that once existed in the Bloom.

  • When the Gloom contracts: World-Shards drift close. Confluxes form. Soulshards surface. Clash of the Ascending Gods becomes possible.

  • When the Gloom expands: distances grow. Confluxes collapse. The Ascending Gods must withdraw and wait.

No one controls this rhythm. It simply is - the Gloom remembering what time used to mean. Each contraction is a Pulse. Each Pulse opens the season of clashes.

◆ The Currents - Four Visions of the Future

Not all Ascending Gods want the same future. Four visions have emerged - four directions that reality could take. These are called Currents.

But Currents are more than philosophies. They are cosmic forces - fundamental tensions holding the Gloom in balance. When an Ascending God aligns with a Current, they do not merely believe in it. They channel it. Their victories feed it. Their Soulshards carry its mark.

THE SHIVER

"Stillness endures."

In the Shiver-made universe, motion is a wound that finally closes. Time does not “stop” so much as it becomes perfectly quiet - no decay, no escalation, no frantic becoming. Pain loses its leverage when nothing can slip away from you, and peace becomes a permanent architecture instead of a temporary mood. Those who align with the Shiver do not crave control over others - they crave an end to inner turbulence, a reality where the self can finally hold its shape.

THE ORDEAL

"Only the strongest earn existence."

In an Ordeal-forged universe, being is not a gift; it is a verdict you continuously justify. Nothing is guaranteed, but nothing is meaningless either - every scar becomes evidence that you were real enough to remain. Comfort is treated like sedation, and mercy is measured against the risk of breeding weakness into the laws of creation. Those who choose the Ordeal often do it for one brutally clean reason: they want a cosmos that cannot lie to them, where worth is proven, not claimed.

THE SUNDER

"Nothing is constant."

In the Sunder’s universe, permanence is the oldest tyranny, and stability is just slow suffocation. Forms shed their skins as naturally as breathing; identities are allowed to evolve without apology, and endings are not tragedies but the engine of renewal. Certainty is replaced by adaptability as the highest virtue - because only what can change can survive its own future. Those who ride the Sunder do not worship chaos; they worship escape: a reality where no cage can stay closed for long.

THE WHISPER

"All things connect."

In the Whisper’s universe, nothing is isolated - every event is a line in a larger sentence you can learn to read. Coincidence becomes rare, not because fate is kind, but because structure is everywhere, threading through matter, memory, and intent. Loneliness weakens when you can feel the hidden circuitry behind people and worlds, and meaning becomes something you decode rather than invent. Those drawn to the Whisper usually aren’t chasing secrets for power - they’re chasing the relief of coherence: the promise that the universe is legible.

These four forces are not allies. The Gloom exists because they pull against each other. None is strong enough to dominate. None can be erased from the Gloom entirely. Their tension keeps reality suspended between existence and void.

◆ The Growing Future - Your Path to Ascension

Every battle leaves a mark. Every Soulshard you claim absorbs the Current you serve.

At the end of each Pulse, the claimed Soulshards crystallize into The Forming - the seed of the next universe growing at the center of the Gloom. Each Pulse adds another ring to its structure, colored by the dominant Current. Read the rings and you read history: which visions won, which futures were written.

The Forming — Visualization After Five Seasons

The dominant Current shapes what follows. A Shiver-dominated Pulse births a slower next cycle. A Sunder victory accelerates everything. This is why the war continues across many Pulses. The balance holds - barely.

But the balance will not hold forever. When enough Soulshards gather under one Will - when an Ascending God becomes powerful enough - they will no longer be ascending.

They will have arrived.

The next Bloom will bear their mark. Their vision will become reality. Their rivals will exist only because the new god permits it.
